CurePSP Hope As Big As Texas 5K Fun Run
Join our family on Saturday May 9, 2026 at the Hope As Big As Texas 5k and 1 mile fun run and walk at Bachman Lake. This event supports CurePSP, the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to awareness, care, and cure for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), and multiple system atrophy (MSA), fatal rare neurological diseases that often strike individuals in the prime of life. As runners, we can appreciate the importance of movement, and these diseases rob patients of the ability to perform even simple daily tasks.
This event is near and dear to our family as Jessica's mother passed away from PSP last year. All proceeds from the Hope As Big As Texas event will benefit the CurePSP Quality of Life Respite Grant Fund, which provides 100 hours of professional caregiving services to families. Our family can attest to the importance of having strong support for patients with PSP. Professional caregivers are expensive, and many families do not have the financial resources to pay for them.
To sign up, go to https://hopeasbigastexas.itsyourrace.com/event.aspx?id=16860. You can join our team - The Pokemon KPop Demon Runners (thanks to Avery and Reagan for the name). This is a family friendly event. Participants will receive tee shirts, and there will be a Kona Ice Truck! If you are unavailable to run that weekend, please consider making a donation.
